How important is the presentation of the word ‘limited’ when registering your new company name?

The very simple answer to this question is, not that important.

Ltd (including with a dot, Ltd.) is a legally acceptable abbreviation of the word limited, and you can use either when presenting your company name for any day to day business use. They are completely interchangeable.

You can also use either form when registering your company and it  comes down to personal preference as to how you prefer the registered name of your company to look.  e.g. My Co Ltd or My Co Limited, either is fine.
